Interview with an artist: Colin Menzies, Studio C

What kind of artwork do you make?
Photography, illustration, music, and animation

Where did you learn your art?
I studied at Central St Martin's in London, England, but most of my skills have been aquired by learning from other artists.

What path led you to the work you do now?
I worked with autistic children doing art therapy, then I heard about Studio C.

What has been the biggest influence in your work?
Determination

Who is your favourite artist?
Charlie Chaplin or Keith Haring

How long have you been at Art Central?
Almost a year!

What do you like the most about working at Art Central?
The characters that mill about.

Besides creating art, what is your favourite thing to do?
I love tennis.

Besides Art Central, what is your favourite place in Calgary?
I'm not sure if that place has been created yet. 

What is your favourite book?
I am constantly reading biographies.

If you were a celebrity, who would you be?
Walt Disney (I've read six of his biographies)
