DESCRIPTION:POST Exhibit presents Peepshow Installation by Gail Scheuring
 : Drawing upon references to women in art history\, Minimalism\, Surreal
 ism and voyeurism\; this installation piece speaks to sexuality and cons
 umer culture in a “feminized” space. Inspired by the artists Jessica
  Stockholder and Peter Halley\, as well as images of sex shops\, the col
 ors represent an interruption of space and have a distinct psychological
  effect upon the viewer. The bright hues represent the garishness of art
 ificial light seen in store fluorescent or “technological” light.  A
 lthough this installation is devoid of the female form\, it still takes 
 on a feminized space through the inclusion of what can be interpreted as
  being domestic “feminized” objects.\nOpening Reception First Thursd
